Volkswagen Commercial: The Force

Geek Rules: You’re not a real geek if you don’t like Star Wars. That said, the PBG’s are HUGE fans and some of us would be Darth Vader’s bitch any day. For the last couple years we’ve been seeing a sleuth of brands collaborating with George Lucas’ baby (case in point Star Wars Adidas Originals and Dixons in the UK). Volkswagen has jumped on the wagon with their a new Super Bowl ad from Deutsch featuring a pint-sized Darth Vader who uses the Force when he discovers the all-new 2012 Passat in the driveway. We really like this is the commercial for its goosebump inducing Imperial march as well as the pint sized Darth Vader that is guaranteed to make you smile.

Star Wars: The Solo Adventures

I'm thoroughly impressed by this short film.  This short is the "Best Animation'' winner from the 9th Annual Star Wars Fan Film Movie Challenge, sponsored by Lucasfilm. The version you see here is the stereoscopic 3D version that requires you to wear red/cyan anaglyph glasses to see it properly, you can see a regular version on YouTube.

The short was directed stereoscopic supervised (had to look it up) and co-written by Daniel Smith. It was produced as a student film by the June 2010 class at Dave School, the international digital animation and visual effects school at Universal Studios in Orlando Florida.

The film is a prequel to the original trilogy that give's us the adventures of Han and Chewie just before Episode IV. Make sure you stay until the end for an amazing "LOL" moment.
